The man behind Moodest9
Moodest9 was founded by Dominik Bondićov, a Product Designer based in Zagreb, Croatia. A multidisciplinary Design Engineer with over a decade of experience, Dominik’s work spans the energy and building industries, where he developed a deep understanding of form, function, and technical precision.
From the early stages of his career, he embraced 3D printing as a tool for rapid prototyping and experimentation — a technology that would later become central to his creative process. Its ability to transform ideas into tangible objects with speed and flexibility continues to shape the studio’s approach to design.
Dominik holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Birmingham City University in Birmingham, UK, where his fascination with lighting first emerged. It was there that he began exploring light not only as a technical element, but as an emotional and spatial experience.
After years of contributing to diverse projects as a contractor, he set out to create something of his own — a studio where engineering meets artistry. Moodest9 marks the beginning of that vision: a space dedicated to thoughtful design, material exploration, and the sculptural potential of light.

"Hey,
First of all, thank you for taking the time to read this. It truly means a lot.
I feel it’s only fair to share why this brand exists in the first place.
I have always been drawn to light design. During my studies, several lighting-focused projects deepened that fascination and shaped the direction of my creative path. There is something endlessly captivating about the interplay between light and shadow — sometimes it is the light itself that commands attention, and sometimes it is the shadow it casts that tells the stronger story.
With over a decade of experience in 3D printing, I knew this medium would become the foundation through which I could express my creativity. It offers freedom, precision, and the ability to turn imagination into tangible form.
Light is meaningful to me beyond design. I have always felt a natural tendency to bring light into the lives of those around me — through awareness, encouragement, and presence. Some close to me even jokingly call me their “light bearer.” Over the years, people have told me that our conversations or shared moments inspired them to grow or move forward in their lives. Hearing that has always been a profound honor.
That is ultimately why I am here — to share that same light with the world, shaped into objects born from my creativity.
My interests span a wide spectrum: from gardening and nature to automotive and building industries — essentially hardcore engineering. I also developed a deep fascination with sacred and fractal geometry during my teenage years, which I explored independently and with great curiosity. You may notice subtle traces of these influences woven into my designs.
I am committed to continually pushing the boundaries of both my design abilities and manufacturing possibilities. While 3D printing is at the core of my process, I have no intention of limiting myself to a single medium. Experimentation is part of who I am.
